What is an ePortfolio?
An ePortfolio is an electronic portfolio that displays your work reflecting your learning over time. In my case, this portfolio represents my learning during my Master's Degree Program in Digital Learning and Leading from Lamar University as well as my classroom experiences as a 6th grade math teacher with Katy Independent School District. I'd also like to use this platform as a means to show future employers what I know, what I can do, and what I'm capable of.

Who Owns the ePortfolio?
Ownership of the ePortfolio can be perceived many ways. Here are a few thoughts: the University owns it if it is done for a degree program, the employer if it is done as part of a job, the student as he/she created it, etc. Personally, I believe that the creator (whether it be a student , employee, or individual) owns it as the product contains their thoughts, ideas, and experiences. Read my blog - Who Owns the ePortfolio? - for my more on my thoughts.

How to create an ePortfolio?
When a learner creates their ePortfolio their mentor should encourage them to use the COVA (Choice, Ownership, Voice, and Authenticity) Approach as it provides authentic learning. Authentic learning is learning through real life experiences and making critical connections. Using the COVA approach is beneficial for the learner as they are become active and deeper learners. When creating an electronic portfolio read my blog - ePortfolio - Sweet & Simple which will explain why you need to make your electronic simple.
